The Explorer's Logbook 29 Sep 2245

It has been quite a few days since I have made my acquaintance with this weird world. I would have written about it but I did not want to because I did not feel like it. The stupid flies are everywhere and they are equally dimwitted. The raspberry river is awesome and has become my source for nourishment. I do need to find another source of food as sugar shouldn't be the only thing I should depend on.

Even though my inner child disagrees, but who cares what he things.

The raspberry river does make one drowsy as there is some sedative like substance in it. It reminds me of cough syrup but a tastier version of it.

I nearly lost my life yesterday as I was standing too close to one of the tree-like things. A root popped out of the ground and wrapped around my leg but then I pulled hard enough and ripped the root off.

The root looked and smelled like chocolate but I did not dare eat it as I don't trust these carnivorous trees. It would go really well with the raspberry water from the river but I need more data before I can ingest it.

While I was examining the chocolate root, something peered at me from among the trees. I looked up and it tried to hide but was not very good at it. The creature would have been awful at playing hide and seek, in my opinion.

It finally understood that I had spotted it and it had nowhere to go. The creature came out of hiding and made itself visible.

In front of me stood a red round object with green hair like growth and a pointy thing on top of it. The pointy thing was not an accessory. Rather it felt like it was part of the hair itself. It had large eyes and a small slit for a mouth.

I said hello to the creature. The creature waved at me.

I asked for its name.

It said "Otamot"

Creature #1: Otamot

Turns out Otamot could speak human languages. I do not know how. The philosophical side of me says that in the large scale of the cosmos, languages converge. I do not listen to that side of me very often because he also believes that you get ice cream when you milk a cow inside a freezer.

Having established a form of communication, I think the Otamot can help me make more sense of this world. Let us see how things go. Hopefully, I will have something more for the next logbook entry.
